“I hate people who don’t like what they like” ~Tyler, The Creator

Sometimes when I'm working on this chart I feel like I'm trying to make it as bad as possible.

Just my own taste, and one album per artist.

The most exilharating drill 'n' bass works he has ever made, interchanged by these childlike (not childish) organ pieces and confusing ambient tracks, this is just the perfect listening experience. Of course it has the necessary Aphex Twin shenanigans: Welsh titles as well as gibberish (sorry Welsh people, I cannot distinguish them), tracks that consist of one weird sound, his family wishing him happy birthday (where the only edit is that his mom's laugh is looped back I think).

Weirdly, this album feels like a combination of the first three albums in this list.

LET THE BEAT ROCK, as simple as that. "Boom Boom Pow" was the first song I really digged, and I still do.

Robert Christgau's review of this is perfect, I got nothing to add. "Just plain people love it".

Some tracks on here can easily be called proto-hyperpop, change my mind.

Completely thrown together with VST-plugins probably, but you do ask yourself where they find these sounds though. It's got a wall of sound approach, and it actually has beats, switching from a rock 'n' roll backbeat to a house four-on-the-floor back to the one for the more funky tracks, all the while calling the first two worlds tongue-in-cheekly "Pop Star" and "Rock Star". It's one of a kind.

Favorite: world map, pop star, shiver star, above the clouds, factory inspection, ripple star catacombs (not on the official soundtrack tho)

I can almost rap along to this whole album.

As with most Wayne records, the beats are so-so, but you're listening for the rhymes, the flow, the nonsensical wordplay. I wanna coin a term: a Waynian comparison: a comparison that only makes sense in terms of how the words sound. "I address 'em like P.O. boxes", or "You cannot see me, like Hitler", or "I'm back like a brassiere hook" and many more.

Just absurd. Never thought I would listen to music that sounds so pretentious. I guess the fact they don't take themselves seriously at all makes up for it.

Roísín Murphy was the first female artist I really digged. She opened my eyes to a whole world of female-made music, which I had been ignoring simply because of bias. Confront yourself with your biases, you're just making your own life harder.

This is one of the few hip hop albums with almost no pop/melodic side to it that I can enjoy from beginning to end. Usually I need a good portion of melody in my music now and then, but Pusha T’s and Malice’s rapping, and The Neptunes’ enviably out-of-the-box beats are enough to keep me going. The only melody to it are Pharrell’s micro-pop hooks (as I like to call them), which are just at the edge of being completely off-key. But just like punk, hip hop should be a little unsettling; just enough so you enjoy it maximally, while it maximally annoys your neighbours.

Favorite: we got it for cheap, ride around shining, chinese new year

You've got a lot of good electronic albums that have been almost forgotten about for some reason. Like Orbital, Chromeo. Chemical Bros, Mr. Fingers, Moloko, Tears for Fears. Even Daft Punk Homework and deadmau5 you never hear about anymore. I also like how you got the Chic album and Enya. Excellent albums.
