"The rawness of this album will be a bit of a shock for those who grew up on The Reaper and Burnin' For You. But more so than those hits, this album is what BOC is all about. Overall, this is a very consistent and excellent outing; 8 cuts and not a dog among them." Reply

"Delightful, faultless beauty (ok, apart from Gary Duncan missing the high note in The Fool) but maybe the most elegant album in Rock history. San Francisco truely must have been a very beautiful place to be." Reply

"I can't praise this album enough: it's deeply rooted in old Led Zep, Black Sabbath and the likes but it really deserves its place as a work of art on its own. The epic In the Castle is my favorite here but also Phoenix is great as well as all the other tracks on this album. A truly great album." Reply

"As has already been said there is a "Cure" feel about this album via Robert Smith on guitars/keyboards. It is however essentially a Banshee record although Smiths influence cannot be denied(Dazzle, Bring Me The Head.... & Blow The House Down). Other notable tracks are Take Me Back & We Hunger." Reply

"This is the best Otis Redding album I've heard personally. Though I like "Otis Blue", this one is just better in my opinion track-for-track. The unbelievably spectacular opening track almost overshadows the rest of the album with its sheer power and attention it commands, but especially on repeat..." [+] Reply
