"There are so many good Neil Young albums, but for me, this one rings the most true, the themes, arrangements, music, band, all seem to gel so well...my favorites, "Coming apart at every nail", and "Little Wing". "Surprisingly good. Undeniably different from their previous albums. Some interesting experimental stuff on it. Taking the band parameters as mainstream and their more commerical past records into account, a good surprise. Favorites: Birth of the Cruel, Nero Forte, Spiders, My Pain." Reply

"Fantastic folk-jazz fusion. Elements of Van Morrison, Nick Drake, and a tinge of more American oriented folk. Walker's voice is sharp and clear, cutting through the loose arrangements as the one clear indicator of melody and structure. Just a fascinating listen." Reply
"Maybe it's just that I'm a Flaming Lips superfan, but I quite enjoy this album. I can now see this is what the Lips were trying to do on Oczy Mlody, but weren't successful in doing. These are clearly very Lips-ian songs, and some are literally Flaming Lips songs; The Floyd Song is reworked on the..." [+] Reply

"this was like...a new kind of rock..I mean..maybe isn't even rock. It has drums, electric guitar, yes..but the way there is no tension/release working (only tension) places it in a different world. Well, OF COURSE it's rock, but one with a unique aesthetics" Reply
