However many years you decide to rank will determine how many points your top year gets.

Your first place year will receive 7 points, second place gets 6 points... etc... But only if you list all 7 years.

Why would posting a list of less than 7 years effect the points of the ones you do post? Can't you still give 1st place 7 points and 2nd place 6 points and so on? There are years I'd rather not give points to because I don't want to help them win.

I think that's the idea, so that for example someone couldn't do a protest vote against the conservative tastes here by only listing 1997 and give it a huge boost.

oh btw here is my complete list

1. 1997

I'll post about the great music of that year sometime soon

Lol....people always have to be so difficult, don't they. Why not just rank all the years in order like everyone else so we can get an accurate reading at the end of the community tastes. It will all even out in the end, and the most commonly highest ranked year will win.

lol but the way this is set up im just pushing the spread between 97 and any other year by 1 point, if I did the full list it would actually get more exaggerated, so this is actually probably better for accuracy of the community

I for one would like to see an accurate read for each placing, not just first place.

Here's my list, and my favorite album of each year:

1. 1971 - Blue by Joni Mitchell
2. 1967 - Forever Changes by Love
3. 1969 - In The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson
4. 1997 - OK Computer by Radiohead
5. 1977 - My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
6. 1994 - Grace by Jeff Buckley
7. 1991 - Nevermind by Nirvana

It's sad to see nothing from my favorite decade--the 2000s--competing in the finals. If it were my choice, 2006 and 2007 would be #1 and #2.
