Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.2/100, a mean average of 65.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

If you like Dylan's immersion of the American crooner song treasure, like I do, then just give in, after 2 albums with similar interpretations he just as well released a triple LP, but Dylan being Dylan it never gets boring, it's well produced in a kind of country style, and he gives the songs new life in his own special way. It's not revolutionary, but it's nice.

OK, Bob can do want he wants ~ but this album is one that after a first listen will sit on my shelf collecting dust, right next to Fallen Angels & Shadow Of The Night.

It’s nice enough but please, no more covers albums Bob. You’re one of the greatest sing writers of all time. Let’s have an album of original material next.

Bob Dylan don't let down with his new album, Triplicate, which is full of covers and tracks of the Traditional Pop that marks the icon of the golden age without doubt the best album of this year.

The problem with this album is although listening to Standards is smooth and relaxing it's way too much off a repetition to shove into a 90 minute album. There not a bad track on this album, but as an altogether piece..yes it can get monotonous

Although I still stand by my original comment, I actually think this is quite a nice release. It's certainly better than, Fallen angels. Nice to hear some brass, I wish there was a bit more of it. I think, Triplicate, is the best of his 'great American songbook' releases but please Bob, no more, I really think it's time for you to grab hold of that pen and start writing again.
