Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.8/100, a mean average of 70.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

First half is really good, but it really loses momentum in the second half. Also far too long. My favourites are The Sacred and Profane and Stand Inside Your Love.
Way too ambitious and ultimately fails . The Everlasting Gaze kicks off the album terrifically but from then on nothing really shines. I saw The Pumpkins live in support of this album & even then the tracks felt flat. I remember Billy announcing at one point during the concert: “ Thanks For Supporting What We Are Trying To Do With This Album “ . No Billy , I just don’t get it . Completely disappointing . Now where’s my copy of Siamese Dream?
Definitely too long - it starts off well but the second half is just not good enough. This is the album that I like the vocals least for some reason. Anyway, in my view it's not underrated - probably one of their two weakest studio albums but still 7/10.
I have mixed feelings for this record. Somehow I get a European influence to it. Part of me likes it and part of me thinks if it were to be done by another band, nobody would care.
To repeat what has already been said ..... totally understated album
A scorching return to form after Adore - this is Corgan magic
Quite underated album received some unfairly harsh reviews on release (Yes rolling stone I am talking about you). Would be a 9 if some of the weaker tracks were culled.
It's not Siamese Dream but the album is solid enough. There's 5 absolute gems here ; Sacred & profane, I of the mourning, This time, With every light and Age of innocence. The rest is OK, but they could have shortened the album a bit to 10 or 12 tracks.
A good album regardless of what was going on within the band. From what I've read the band split up during the recording of the album or they at least knew it was the end. Maybe that's why it sounds like a Corgan solo album in parts.
Their most underrated album. Very good but too long.
Best tracks: Stand Inside Your Love, The Everlasting Gaze, Raindrops + Sunshowers, I of the Mourning.
This is pretty much Billy at his purest and craziness so if you dig that (and I do) then this is an awesome album. Otherwise you probably hate it, and maybe rightfully so.
