Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.0/100, a mean average of 74.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

Such a steady rhythmic trance rock flow throughout. This gelled with me quicker than any other Dandy's album has. Great long distance driving album. Few tracks have a bit of an alt Lou Reed feel about them. Some other killer tunes besides the obvious hit.

The album is a great listen with many catchy tunes and atmospheric rock. Bohemian Like You remains one of my fav tracks of all time.

American Brit-Pop at it's best. Rated too low on this site. Derivative yes, boring, no way. For me this album is far more enjoyable than the far from derivative Kid A.

"Bohemian Like You" is a really great song but the rest of the albums sounds boring and derivative (album rating: 36,92 %)

Every one knows Bohemian Like You and rightly so it’s a terrific song. As for the rest of this album IMO it’s so so with a bunch of average tracks. Welcome To The Monkey House is my preferred DW album

The Dandy Warhols are just a bunch of guys from Portland that needed some music to drink to. I would certainly drink to this too. This was their 3rd record, one that I missed at the time somehow, even though these songs were present on TV shows, commercials and movies from the era. The best tracks here are "Nietzsche" and "Bohemian Like You."
The overall sound is good. It has that one song on all the adverts. Not a lot else standing out to me. Wouldn't pass up a chance to hear something else by them.

Draws upon many influences and wears them on it's sleeve. It's a quality album with dreamy melodies and a muted tone. Funky, intelligent and catchy. Too bad they have the personalities of douches.

The Dandy Warhols' run through a gamut of influences on "Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia".
"Godless" opens this album with an acoustic guitar reminiscent of George Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord' and takes turn into a Burt Bacharach vibe... A spacey psychedelic "Mohammed" has a chilled Beatleish tone... "Neitzche" falls in with a raw grind...A rustic feel from a slide guitar and banjo on "Country Leaver" ... "Solid" is a fuzzy upbeat jangle ... A shoegazing "Horse Pills" pounds it's way through it's own sleaze... The restless sing-a-long "Get Off"... The tranquil ballad "Sleep" gently drifts... The radiant psychedelic "Cool Scene" has a Byrds' warmth... The super catchy "Bohemian Like You" has that Stones thing going on... An Iggy/Velvet Underground nod rumbles through "Shakin'"...Buffalo Springfield infused "Big Indian"... The twangy melancholy of "The Gospel" rounds out this is eclectic album.
Dense, bright, melodies wrapped in a slacker vibe. Every song is a keeper. Sonorous warmth, luscious guitar overdubs and beautiful harmony filled songs cross-fade to give a continuous atmosphere. An excellent album.
The first 3 tracks flow and meld perfectly together, Bohemian Like Me is one of my all-time faves but the whole thing is great. I could listen to this one over and over and over and then the first 3 again. Perfect road trip album.
