Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a mean average rating of 90.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 91.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.0.

El mejor álbum en la historia del rock
I love Radiohead. I finally saw them live 2 years ago and it was amazing. I genuinely love most of their albums and have grown to enjoy the king of limbs lately. I do believe some of their albums are a bit overrated tho, and I am sure that OKC is mainly the reason. Its a record so amazing, that pretty much everything that comes after this (and Kid A, that I also find to be an incredible record) will be overlooked and overrated, even more if its great, like Amnesiac or HTTT.
OKC is catchy, fun and easy to listen to in the surface, but if you look deeper, you will find one of the most visionary and smart albums of the modern times. I don't believe it is as complex as some people say, in that sense, it is quite over hyped, but I don't think it needs to be. It is as mainstream as an album like this can get, and that plays to radio heads favor, because their message has certainly reached every corner of the world. Every single track is essential and fits the ambient and style of the album perfectly. It flows amazingly and the creativity put in it by Radiohead is out of this world.
OK Computer is Radiohead at their finest, and that's a lot to say considering they have released at least 4 records that could compete with this one for the throne of their catalogue. I wouldn't say it is necessarily the best album of all times, but this album is the definition of a game changer classic. It set the tone for most of the music of the late 90s and early 00s and it deserves all of the recognition it has gotten through out the years. Every day it gets more accurate and I honestly believe that I´ll never get tired of listening to it.
Some good songs with great production. Seriously the most over rated album of all time though. Disgraceful that this is ranked higher than all Beatles albums.
great album but little bit overrated
Love the album but I always skip "Climbing Up the Walls" and "Electioneering". Everything else is perfect (including "Fitter/Happier")
Fav. Tracks: Paranoid Android, Karma Police.
Where is the appropriate point of origin? Where does one begin eloquently without bellowing out praise like a music-snobbed elitist hell-bent on hard-headedness of musical appreciation. OK Computer's coronation may send shivers down spines of readers who watch it litter charts all across the platform, a sentiment felt by frontman Thom Yorke, who tries to downplay it's place in music history in an effort of self-conscious humility. Never one to be put in a creative box, Yorke refuses to be defined by one album and he's surely not.
For me, it's not OK Computer's futuristic motifs, slick guitar lines or harmonic prowess that take the cake. It's the intangible wonder of an album so meticulously crafted to the note. The emotional response that wells up from within during each and every listening experience and the philosophical resonance that never fails to affect me. In an age where resistance to a popular opinion is so prevalent, I'd have every reason in the world to dismiss OK Computer, to liken its listeners to a brand of entry-level beginners to the world of critically acclaimed music and yet the album dazzles each and every listen. In many ways, OK Computer warns against the monotony of modern times and times to come, but still the album comes home every night, reliable as ever.
"This is my final fit, my final bellyache. With no alarms and no surprises..." - No Surprises
1. No Surprises
2. Let Down
3. Paranoid Android
I wish I could give this album a 0 just to piss off some Radiohead fans but I cant, is just perfect. I dont know how they did it. Ok Computer deserves every single praise and acclaim it has recieved since its release.
The lyrics, the production, the sounds, the melodies, everything is fucking GREAT. Hard to believe it was made by human beings. They definitely reach a level of perfection that hasnt been matched yet, since then.
I wouldnt argue that much with anyone that tells me this is the best album ever made.
