Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 56.3/100, a mean average of 53.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 53.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.0.

Since this has no tracks that feature on most Greatest Hits albums they've put out. You'd think with that it would be quite shit, but it's actually not that bad. Mostly it's like paint by numbers Kiss songs. Quite predictable. And you can hear a few riffs that they'd either recycled or borrowed from other people's songs on a few tracks. One of the weaker of the Kiss albums

Mid Eighties mediocrity. However on relistening this is not that bad of a record. Paul's songs continue to dominate and Gene continues to be inconsistent. But since Paul wrote half of them and all his are good it makes for a solid record. The "rough around the edges" production actually enhances the record as that was going against the trend of the time. Give it another listen...you will be surprised how well tracks like "King Of The Mountain" and "Radar For Love" hold up compared to what everyone else was doing. "Tears Are Falling" is definitely one of the better KISS singles too. And admit it..."Uh! All Night" is brilliant absurdity. Only KISS could pull that off.

Absolutely terrible, even by mid-eighties Kiss standards. It's not even enjoyable and Kiss were at least that in their heyday even if it was rubbish. One of their worst records.
