There are no redeemable qualities in this 2nd album. The first 3 Pepper albums are bad. They partied and skated and wore socks on their dongs and had a blast being loud. Yay for them.
Nothing in this album hints at their potential so going back to hear where they were at the time is an interesting listen for a few minutes.

I love the Sly and Family Stone cover... RHCP gets awesome at Mother's milk. This album isn't bad, but definitely not good. Some songs are just terrible thought. Best tracks: 4 8 10 11 13. I would rather listen to What Hits? for their early stuff.

I don't really care for early RHCP. There's not really any sign here of the greatness to come, and the best tracks are the covers. Still though, George Clinton squeezes the maximum amount of funk out of them.
This album is a mess. I personally like it but I can see how other people would not. I guess you had to have been there.
