Sorry to those who love the Killers, but to me, they're repeating the same formula over and over again. I don't see how this sounds any different than Hot Fuss or Sam's Town... In fact, it's the same stuff, without the memorable hooks. I suppose it's listenable, but there's much better music that's worth my time.
This was the first album to truly disappoint a 13 year old me infatuated with the Killers. Even then I could tell there was something missing, which considering my taste in music when I was 13 isn't a good thing. Its listenable, and there are some good tracks, but there's a few disappointments.
Unlike Hot Fuss, this album has consistent quality and that's why I find it to be their best work. The album also benefits from having "Human" and "This Is Your Life" which I find to be the 2 best tracks The Killers have ever made.

What's the point of having a music-rating site when everyone just rates everything the same? I'm truly surprised about this album. I was expecting a very very bad album and got a very enjoyable experience. The songs themselves are not that great but I don't know, I got a good time out of it and I would listen to it again in full. There are much better records out there and The Killers have 2 much better albums but this is fun and I like fun. I would give this a 7/10 but I'll be honest with myself and give it a 7.5 because it made me smile throughout. (Edited)
Surprisingly fun. I wasn't expecting to like this at all. Completely missed it when it came out.
