More electronica than, queen of Denmark, but the quality of the writing hasn't dipped, and the lyrics are just as darkly humorous as before. Glacier, is probably Grant's most beautiful song to date. Overall, it's not as instant as, QOD, but repeated listens brings out the quality of the songs.
The folk-meets-electronica thing is alternately brilliant and hard to swallow, but "GMF" might be the best song I heard this year.

Plaintive synthpop and classic 70s rock are an unlikely pairing but John Grant manages to merge them brilliantly. Barbed, often funny, but usually very sad lyrics detail the protaganist's self-destructive but addictive obsession with a former lover, making for absorbing if at times uncomfortable listening.

Wonderful album. Pale Green Ghosts is more progressive and aggressive than Queen of Denmark which is also a great album.
Excellant Album. Crazy beats and sounds to go with the brillant voice and lyrics. I cant compliment this album enough.
