This album is pretty good, maybe a little long, but I would say it is almost the same level as American Idiot. (Edited)

When this album was released I think it failed to get out from under the massive shadow cast by its predecessor, and was largely seen as an inferior attempt to recreate it (see my earlier comment as an example). But over a decade later it really feels like it stands on it's own as another great Green Day album. It's much better than I gave it credit for at the time. Although I hope I'm proven wrong, this is perhaps the last great Green Day album. (Edited)

Another great Green Day album. It doesn't reach the heights of American Idiot but this is probably Green Days most creative and consistent work. 21st Century Breakdown will go down as a classic album that people will still be talking about in ten years time.

This was definitely where my affinity for Green Day ended. This isn't a particularly good album. There are a lot of really good songs, but they don't serve each other particularly well. As ambitious as it is, it's mostly a redundant, overstuffed mess.

This is to American Idiot what Insomniac was to Dookie. So, basically, more of the same but not quite as good. There's not really anything wrong with that however, still a high quality listen.
