I liked this far more than I expected. One thing that stands out to me about the Velvet Rope is simply how successful it is at being ambitious.

Not much memorable for me on this one and, consistent with many highly regarded 90s R&B albums, it's really long. I did enjoy the unexpected Joni Mitchell interpolation.

Grande álbum de Janet, mais exposta do que nunca.
After Janet's breakdown in the mid-nineties, she took a long break from music to focus on her mental health. The Velvet Rope is where Janet finally came back with a new album, and while the themes and lyrics are dark, the album focuses mainly on loving one's self. The highlights of the album include "Free Xone", "Rope Burn", and "Anything".
The Velvet Rope is largely considered Janet's masterpiece album - and I would have to agree.

Along with "Janet", her previous album, this is right up there amongst the best RnB soul records 0f modern times. Best tracks "Free Zone " "Got 'Till It's Gone" "You" "I Get Lonely" "What About" and of course "Together Again.

Already Classic Album from Janet Jackson - very deep and soulful. Favorite tracks - "Together Again" and "Every Time"
