Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.1/100, a mean average of 72.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.1.

Demons is Guster's best song. It's not even close

Add Great Escape and Airport Song minus the last 30 seconds to the list of keeper songs. Getting Even is close.

The rest are passable Guster songs of hand drums and vocal harmonies. Guster doesn't mix up there schtick all that much for their first three albums.

Early Guster is best known Guster sadly. This is college radio music.

8 albums in Guster has a signature sound so I give them credit. You could take 15 of their best songs and have one really great album. But album to album has a lot of filler of same vocal notes held in harmony with mid tempo 4/4 time with some bongo fills.

They are good and have a niche audience but Goldfly is middle of the road Guster. The next 3 albums are their peak

Great album. The acoustic guitar along with the hand drums and vocal harmonies make Guster one of my favorites. This is their best album.
