Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.1/100, a mean average of 65.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

Right, let me keep you up to speed on what is happening in the world of Streophonics. You maybe to busy reading about The Radio Heads or God's Emperor... Penguin or whatever else the cool bands are called. Regardless I'll post this for future archeologists and/or music enthusiasts. At this point in time... the tide is coming in for the Streophonics. Well, I must say it really has come I mean, oh my they must be getting wet there! Through salt water and the muck they do pack in some late career highlights though. Listen to that 'Beerbottle' as it floats by. That's what you want when you listen to these guys. A toe tapping shuffle bitzy ready to rouse the stadiums. 'Innocent' sees the introspective mind in the mosh pit formula used again to a very good result and 'Live 'N' Love' and 'I Got Your Number' are nice warm puddings that will slide nicely onto the portable device of the citizen who likes the top 40 guitar music. I mean that 'Live N Love' is cut from the same cutter that gave the world 'Rock N Roll Star. That's a good thing! It keeps them going! And sure the last track sounds like a Robbie Williams across the open sky moment but it works... some how sounds nice. Super Furry Animals have trouble keeping a consistent album these days when they once they recorded 'Fuzzy Logic' and Supergrass split up while they were recording their seventh! Streophonics can still write consistently! Take that doubters and naysayers!
