Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Great album, better than most of the Shin's work.

First Impression: (Pavement > Archers of Loaf) worship shine through on this which is interesting since I pick none of this on the The Shins' debut. Very generic indie rock sound c/w the sound he would develop just a few years later. Still solid indie rock though.
Pretty good, but not close to other things Mercer has come out with
