Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.1/100, a mean average of 73.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.4.

I was honestly very bored by this album. Though, I think I had the same initial reaction to Screamadelica, and I ended up loving that one, so we will see

I actually kind of liked this, but like so many things, it didn't hold my interest for its entire duration.

A bit of a letdown from the band that brought us "Screamadelica". There are, however, some fine tracks to be found - just not enough of them. And IMO the instrumentals go on just a bit too long.

An exquisitely crafted neo-psychedelia record from Primal Scream. Dark and trippy yet an absolute joy to listen to, this record houses many a great melody

I'm finally starting to get this album. Full of different moods caused by electronic sounds, real instruments and a variety of interesting vocal samples. Quite cool album, feels like walking in a subway. Best songs are probably "Burning Wheel" and "Star".
