Even more criminally underrated than Silversun Pickups' glorious debut, I am perplexed by the fact that this band didn't receive the notoriety of their contemporaries like Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie, who they are often compared to.
Having already made two albums (their first is also fantastic), Pinback's third LP, Summer In Abaddon, sees the band create something I'd call an incredible achievement in rock music, and easily comparable to triumphant efforts from similar rock bands like Modest Mouse and Built to Spill.
It still astounds me how far I had to venture out of BEA's top 1000 to discover this hidden masterpiece, but I'm so glad I found it.

A great indie rock album, not quite sure whey these guys have never garnered much attention. "Fortress" especially is an absolute gem of a song.
