Shirley Horn was a jazz singer and pianist who was discovered by Miles Davis. She started recording in the 1960's without much success despite critical acclaim. She worked best with her trio of musicians but did record with an orchestra (Here's To Life). She made a comeback album in 1987 with the verve label a live album called "I Thought About You" she continued to record for verve until 2003, the best albums of which are "You're My Thrill" and "I Remember Miles". She was in her 60's when she recorded these albums but her voice still held strength and emotion and her piano playing is faultless. She died in 2005.
