Criminally underrated band. Memorable riffs, killer tone, repetition is effective and song structures are for the most part well crafted. Really soulful, and centred around very real struggles. Good balance to the role of members and instruments sonically. Personally, their struggle to keep making music at all elicits real sympathy and empathy, and they do simply put out really great rock. All of the members are talented and harness it to end up with nice work, unfortunately not all of it has the same effect as the "quality" of the work often seems to be dampened by events they are going through.
They never sound exciting to me. Gretchen Goes To Nebraska has some good bits and Dogman has some too.

Meh...
The most underrated band in rock, IMO. Fantastic harmonies, guitar work, and drum patterns.
