The album is called relapse for a reason ,trust me he sums up just how much of a head fuck opiate addiction withdrawals are,any different style at this point of his life would be a false album ,well done Eminem for being true to yourself (Edited)
Drugs Are Bad.
On earlier albums, Eminem rapping on drugs before he hits the big time and can rationalize it as a struggle to the top and being young and partying can be accepted as wreckless rebellious abandon. It's appealing.
Eminem doing an album on drugs after he has made it to the top, middle-aged with a kid and all the money in the world--that is all together darker and less appealing.
That spells addiction. What used to be fun isn't anymore and this whole things toes a line of evil lunacy. Like most addicts, they can sell that its all under control until it isn't. And that's a dangerous battle with oneself.
And we get Relapse. It's bad. It's sad. It's hard to watch.
Some would say Eminem is brave for bringing all of us into the journey of his life. I say he doesn't have a choice. It's all he knows how to do to survive. And on this record you wonder if he is going to. Its a dark place.
And one I don't return to. Every Eminem album is worth listening to but Relapse is skippable. I encourage you to skip it.
This is a very underrated album, great dre production and em still brings the verbal gymnastics. People like to hate on it simply cause em is sober and that is honestly sad. Congratulations on sobriety Em and F opiates and opiate addiction. Burying your best friend can sure make you hate something. (Edited)

Eminem can be powerful with words, but this album is mediocre
49/100???? That's the lowest I have seen on this site. I wouldn't have thought people disliked it that much. The album has some good moments
