Just off the borders of your waking mind, there lies another time where darkness and light are one, and as you tread the halls of sanity, you feel so bound to be unable to go beyond.... I bring a message from another time. [First added to this chart: 07/24/2013]

There is no pain. You are receding. A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look, but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now. The child is grown. The dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb. [First added to this chart: 07/24/2013]

Truth is, I thought it mattered. I thought the music mattered. But does it bollocks? Not so much as people matter. (They'll be singing when we're winning we'll be singing) I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never gonna keep me down. [First added to this chart: 09/12/2013]

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 78.0/100, a mean average of 76.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 17.3.

I do not know what I found more amazing, someone having the guts to put Boney M. on the turn table and apparently liking it or someone actually finding merit in one of the weakest Electric Light Orchestra offerings. It’s a strange world we live in, Master Jack. Well, this site is all about odd tastes.
And how can I not love a man who likes John Denver and Sparks?

Very interesting and honest chart. Great to see Boney M and They Might Be Giants alongside the Beatles and Pink Floyd.

I'm very interested how your list will evolve after your current revamp. I like the personal touch and the fact that you don't give a shit about the BEA canon and follow your own gut feeling (see comment of M42K0). Only two albums in common but I do like many of the albums in your list and if I don't at least your comments on it.

I like the inclusion of lyrics to go with each entry, although a few of these reminded me why I didn't like certain albums. Nice inclusion of The Beatles' white album and London Calling!

Just way too many arguably average and bad albums for my taste. Feels like a very personal list and like the author doesn't really care about what's good but rather what he likes to listen. Sadly, since every chart is influencing the placements of all the albums on this site, you've got to be ready to get couple of bad ratings as a backlash for giving 80 points to Lady Gaga, Mika and Evanescence. :)
