This is a list of my favorite albums. I'm not including classical music, simply because de greatest works were realeased befaure albums evene existed. I tried to do the one album per artiste rule, but I just couldn't . There are some masterpieces that I can´t leave out even if I have to sacrifice some variety.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Sweet chart
Fantastic chart and with 33 albums in common I tend to agree with most of the picks. Particularly love seeing 5 albums from Sigur Ros in particular.

gran lista amigo, me fascina ver tu amor por bandas como Yes ó Sigur Rós, pero lo que más me agradó fue ver a Thick a Brick tan alto en la lista, uno de mis discos favoritos de todos los tiempos
You commented on my chart so now I'm looking back to yours to see how much we truly did overlap.
All I can say is I know I'll be using your rankings for a while to find new music, starting with the Thick as a Brick.
Nice, really enjoyed this one... some stuff doesn't fit with my personal taste (like Metallica), but overall is a great chart
