No other album affected me as strongly as this album. Musically it ushered in a whole new world of undiscovered music that I had been longing for. Everything is just so perfect about this album. It also wasn't the first Dream Theater album I had ever listened to but once I heard this one, I knew that Dream Theater, and in particular this album, was very very special.

I have consistently been listening to this album for a little over two decades. Sure there may be better guitar based instrumentals out there and there may even be better Phil Keaggy albums out there. But this one is just special to me. It's been like an old wise friend that is there when I'm hurting or down. The melodies and the complexities just speak to my soul in a way that nothing else can. I listened to it when I would get migraines and they would go away. I played it for me son when he was a baby. It's just a very special to me.

I have quite a few Larnelle Harris albums but this one ranks up so high for me because of the way these lyrics and music have healed my heart and challenged me as a Christian. Particularly, the old hymn, "His Eye is On the Sparrow" done masterfully on this album helped pull me out of a very dark place in my life.

This album was the "kick in the butt" that the floundering Christian music industry needed. In the mid 90's saw a resurgence of Christian music that said "we don't a crap what you think of us this is what we believe". Jesus Freak should be every Christian's anthem.
