Sound & Vision is an American magazine, purchased by AVTech Media Ltd. in March 2018, covering home theater, audio, video and multimedia consumer products. Before 2000, it had been published for most of its history as Stereo Review. The magazine is headquartered in New York City. These are their best albums of all time. To help celebrate Sound & Vision Magazine's 50th-anniversary year, the editors and critics selected their "Top 50 Albums of All Time".

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Another magazine list that focuses on the ground breaking albums, not the great ones, (a subtle but important difference).

You won´t discover anything here.
Lo mismo de siempre
This is suppose to be all time but yet they have 42% for the 60's and 44% for the 70's... Anyone who loves this pole is clearly biased to these decades. There's plenty of albums as good as these decades worth.
Too routine and lacking any surprises, but at the same time free of most ludicrously overrated records.
Easily the best of the critics/writers polls that I've seen.
Decent
60's and 70's biased for a mag... Editors and critics need replacing now.
