The Top 50 Albums of All Time
by Sound & Vision Magazine (2010)
Sound & Vision is an American magazine, purchased by AVTech Media Ltd. in March 2018, covering home theater, audio, video and multimedia consumer products. Before 2000, it had been published for most of its history as Stereo Review. The magazine is headquartered in New York City. These are their best albums of all time. To help celebrate Sound & Vision Magazine's 50th-anniversary year, the editors and critics selected their "Top 50 Albums of All Time".

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 73.9/100, a mean average of 72.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.1.

This is suppose to be all time but yet they have 42% for the 60's and 44% for the 70's... Anyone who loves this pole is clearly biased to these decades. There's plenty of albums as good as these decades worth.
Boring and obsessed with the '60s and '70s, but nothing I actively dislike.
Lots of good albums, pretty decent ranking order IMO, a few slightly atypical albums (John Barleycorn Must Die, Moby Grape), but overall WAY too biased on 60s/70s. This list is from 2008 and there's only 3 albums from after 1985? Really?
Here are really great stuffs, but it is funny to see 43 albums from 60s & 70s. At Least got a little relieved to see 'Nevermind' and finally 'OK Computer'.
wow, music died after the 70s here !
