Top 100 Music Albums of 2015
by

As with my 2014 chart, I'm including everything I've listened to for the year here, even terrible albums. The reason is I use this more of a log of what I've listened to; I still plan to rank bad albums last so they'll invariably get no points. Plus it's my chart and I do what I want.
31 keepers so far! Everything else that's rated a 70 is close. Ratings for those albums will probably climb as I give them more listens. Anything rated 65 is something I enjoyed but don't think I'll ever listen to again; however I still highly recommend those albums.
This has probably been the best year for music since 2012.
**Update 9/3/18: I've updated the portion of this chart with the over 70 albums to keep it in line with my current ratings. Everything under a 70 still has my opinions from 2015, which are probably shitty.
**Update 2/19/20: Did another update of everything 70 and above.

GKMC > 2PAB > Section.80 but really who cares when all three are among the top 15 albums of the new millennium. [First added to this chart: 03/19/2015]

The combination of Welsh's voice with the subtle instrumentation and plain spoken lyrics is just so beautiful. [First added to this chart: 10/20/2015]

Best thing he's done by far. Even though I've recently come to really love Seven Swans and Age of Adz this still stands as his best. [First added to this chart: 04/08/2015]

I don't blame 2015 me for not liking this. He was already juggling starting to like hip hop and singer-songwriter stuff, as well as diving into extreme metal, so starting to like pop was probably a bit too much for him. But 2018 me realizes that this is one of the most fun and relatable pop albums he's heard. [First added to this chart: 09/26/2015]

This is the best rock record I've heard in years. I can't get enough of her voice, the rawness of which makes me weak at the knees. I don't even know what genre this is but I want more of it in my life. [First added to this chart: 05/29/2015]

This has really jumped up for me recently. Just a pure shot of adrenaline, better than anything Japandroids have done and close to Cloud Nothings quality, if you want to compare it to garage punk contemporaries. [First added to this chart: 11/10/2015]

This is carried by a few of the year's best songs (Flesh Without Blood, Kill v Maim, REALiti) but the rest is also fantastic. [First added to this chart: 11/15/2015]

The first five songs here are just killer. It dips a bit after that but it's never boring. [First added to this chart: 09/22/2015]

Laugh at me all you want, I like real black metal now too but this is still incredible. [First added to this chart: 04/13/2015]

Is it just me, or is this 1000 times better than Doris? I've always liked Earl's flow, and the production on his previous album was incredible. But it suffered from having some really terrible songs and some really bad guest appearances (Tyler the Creator...Mac Miller...RZA's freckles line...ugh). This, on the other hand, combines great production (not quite as dirty as Doris, but more eclectic) and Earl's unique droning flow with some great lines, songs, and guest verses. This is really the album I've been waiting for him to make. [First added to this chart: 03/24/2015]
