These are listed in order, but I love them all. Apart from number 1, I didn't really want to separate them. The list lacks objectivity. I confess that these are my favoutites, I don't know how you would define the "best". I don't have a problem with liking the same music as everyone else and I don't really worry too much about the persona that the media graft on to artists, because I don't think we ever get to see anything other than what suits the journalists agenda anyway.
I can also guarantee I've missed stuff out. My favourite Pop song is, and always will be, Ride a white swan by T Rex.

We were on our way to Glencoe, driving through the Bridge of Orchy when someone put this on really loud. Breaking into heaven grabbed me and the rest never let me go.

This is pretty new. For me, it is genius. I knew nothing about Kanye, so had no preconceptions. Rolling Stone said Runaway was the best track of 2010, so I listened to it expecting hip hop bsnality. I couldn't have been more wrong. Poetry put to music. Reminds of Morrisey. Is that wrong. Oh, and it made me laugh "I'd shoot a bootlegger"
