Top 40 Greatest Music Albums
by ramthecowy

My taste in music is hardly settled nor the best. A lot of these albums are purely here because of the sentimental value attached to them because of the memories attached to the music that I listened to growing up. It's going to be work in progress... forever. My tastes will be ever-diversifying and so this list will keep expanding. The top 20 albums are set pretty much. Anything below that still hits the mark of "do listen before you die" and ought to all be on one rank, something that unfortunately isn't possible. Feel free to read what I say about each album, or judge me I guess. For sure coming on this list:
- more funk
- more punk (ha the rhyme!)
- more house
- Buckethead
- Volto!
- Saliva
and more stuff for sure

Pure emotion, takes me right back to 14 years old again. There are few albums that have quite the same emotional impact and I don't think anyone has quite mastered that quite as well as Joe Satriani [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

One of the first jazz albums I've ever listened to, and I'll still maintain one of the finest. EST are masters of their craft and there's little they haven't covered with their immense talent, emotional albums and innovation. [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

I came across this one after a recommendation by an Automation forum user (good stuff Sillyworld!) and it was an eye-opener for sure. The integration of electronic elements, heavy guitar and otherworldly vocals is truly an experience and it was right up my alley at that time from Gojira. [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

Gojira takes the cake, if you ask me, for the heaviest band of all time. 11/10 would listen again. Their tone is unparalleled and they are undisputed kings of thundering, raw terror and just... metal. It's just so metal. [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

If I'm remembering right I found this when looking into Linkin Park and discovering Mike Shinoda's project. At that time The Rising Tied had just come and I put it on and listened to the full hour in one go. At the end I was just a emotional mess because rap like this, rap about real life, real issues - depression, war, job, musical career... it just doesn't have a place in the shouty world of mainstream rap. Huge fan of the stuff. Best songs: Back Home, Kenji, Red to Black, The Hard Way. Best songs not on this album: Spraypaint and Inkpens. [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

This must have been the second album I ever listened to. Hearing Wake Up come on made all the hair on my body stand on end, it was a real experience - I mean, it still does. I don't particularly know why I like it beyond that because outside of this bluegrass and country isn't my sort of thing. [First added to this chart: 05/21/2018]

For some dope house music from the 2010's, go to Caracal. Dope album there. Love the album so much.

"Extreme nutt" may be the most hilarious way I've ever heard someone describe an album let alone my favorite album ever hahaha
