Low has to be appreciated for the new direction Bowie was heading in. It was such a risky album to make. The second side alone was not appreciated by his record label and could have seen him cast into the musical wilderness. But he believed in what he was doing and gave the world his masterpiece. It is a fantastic album drawing together many of his influences. If you can find another album with a better opening sound, I would love to hear it.

This was an artist I heard on Peel. I loved the title track and grew to love it more than the Clash's version of it.

I just love this album. The packaging for the 30th anniversary edition in CD looks great, but does not sit well on my shelves.

This music was a force. It attacked your ears. Yet another cover that is so good it deserves to be framed.

King's Lead Hat is such a great song. I first heard it when Midge Ure's version of Ultravox did a cover of it on the b-side of some single. I had to search out the original.

I asked the DJ at Smokies in Arbroath whao was responsible for the great music that had just finished. You could see he was fighting back the desire to say that he was. Instead he told me it was Iggy Pop.

This is John Foxx at the helm, not Midge Ure. Foxy Music are a big influence. Young Savage just rocks.
