I have decided to only include one album from each artist in this chart because I am having to leave out some great bands from my chart. I have included some notes about each album to try to explain why they are so special to me. Just remember they are all my babies and I love them all equally even though some are definately cuter than others and some of them look nothing like me!

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

One of the best charts I've seen. Gotta listen to some albums I don't know, but just the hard work and the appreciation of music make this one of my favs.
You must be kidding! Forever Changes has one of the greatest covers of all time! Haha. Great list!

Totally disagree with your no 1 and yet your chart was interesting enough to keep my looking through all 10 pages. That's the greatest compliment I can give you, I think.

Your list one of my faves great seeing THE FALL at number 1 and glad u love three of my most loved Aussie bands The Triffids, The Go Betweens & Nick Cave

I love/ am discovering/ have in the waiting list many of these albums.
It only proves once again that great music surpasses time.
Very nice to see some of the "new" great records like Childish Prodigy.
