It's arguable that this is Dylan's magnum opus. I personally prefer Highway 61, but that doesn't take away from the genius of this effort. Sad-Eyed Lady's length is reminiscent of Desolation Row and is almost just as good. Popular tracks Just Like a Woman and I Want You carry this album to pop status while the opening tracks set the tone for an album slightly different from it's predecessors. The only down side is that the recording of the harp on some of the tracks can bust your ears. Personally I like most of it anyways but I can objectively say that the harp is Dylan's weakest part of this album.
Choice Cuts: Visions of Johanna, Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again [First added to this chart: 06/26/2020]

1966 and The Beatles beat their best record yet (1965's Rubber Soul) with this one. Popular tracks like Eleanor Rigby and (unfortunately) Yellow Submarine boost this record's POP status. But it's within tracks like Taxman, And Your Bird Can Sing, For No One, Here There And Everywhere AND I'm Only Sleeping (I'm naming a lot) that I find joy in listening to this record. Good Day Sunshine sounds like McCartney's usual corniness but it's neglectable compared to the rest of the album.

WTF? some excellent choices as well as some sad omissions.. for example:
The mothers of invention (Zappa), Nina Simone, Wayne Shorter, THE FUCKING LEGENDARY SOUNDTRACK FOR THE GOOD' BAD' AND UGLY, i love brazilian music so i highly recommend Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes as well as Sergio Mendes, Ike & Tina Turner, Nancy Sinatra, etc. I could continue there are lots of goodies from 66. If you like phil ochs so much then check out his live record from 1966.
