Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 92.5/100, a mean average of 95.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 95.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 4.7.

Hmmm... Very interesting.
Hi CellarDoor,
now that I checkt out your top 10...
I`m not impressed by William Basinski, Tim Hecker and Lovesliescrushing.
Ray Montgomery is OK and the rest of the top 10 is brilliant.
(5 in common with my contemporary classical crossover chart)
Put it this way,
I love you for this. That is all.
Wow! When I saw that the top 2 albums are the two albums I've become totally obsessed with lately, I knew this was a good source of similarly "vibed" music and so I am pretty excited to explore this list further.
Very creative and original!
Lot of nationalities
Amazing Chart you are original to choose those and make us hear
Beautiful idea for a Chart,
lot`s for me to check out.
Thanks for that Chart.
Great Idea!
I don't know shit about most albums in this chart, but I do realise they are all great, just by the setting. What did you think of Magnog? I just listened to More Weather by them and I really liked it.
