"Another beautifully composed album, but this time the female vocal gives a nice contrast and the hushed tones seem more evident. Their albums are never meant to hit you with obvious immediate standout tracks. I’m amazed at how often a track of theirs will only stand out to me months down the trac..."  [+]  Reply

"To me, the best song on this album is one of the 2 that are autoproduced making me think that Danger Mouse is the Black Key's Yoko Ono. It's not totally bad, it's just that we all know that those guys can come up with way better stuff..."  Reply

"Production was really good throughout, which I didn't really expect. Especially towards the end from the instrumental track onwards. As expected, Earl delivers as a lyricist, though thematically this album seems all over the place and without a clear direction. Earl's flow and delivery, always a ..."  [+]  Reply

"Absolutely stunning album !! It keeps revealing something different with each spin. Hard to describe : experimental ? dubstep ? ambient ? minimal ? An important release anyhow, and one of the best 2011 has to offer."  Reply

"That lead singer still sounds like Conor Oberst so much that this album sounds like "lifted" would if Conor ROCKED OUT. It's uncanny and in a lighter year, this would've been top 10 material. It's a fine blue collar bar band delivering a rockin' civil war concept album."  Reply

"I'm glad I came back to this album after being turned off the first time I tried to listen to it. There are a number of tracks that I enjoyed on this one. Wolly Wolly Gong was very good, as An_Outlaw already pointed out. I also enjoyed My Country, Riotriot, and Bizness as well. But my favorite tr..."  [+]  Reply

"This is the only Tom Waits album I own myself. I know his music from friends but I am not sure about the albums names that I have heard. Whatever: This one is my own and it's super."  Reply

"This album is something I haven’t heard in quite a while. Kind of a post-punk revival kind of album. The best comparison I can draw is the album “Double Nickels On The Dime" that Minutemen in 1984 with a mix of Pavement a little. It’s very good, very different. It has this goofiness about it, yet..."  [+]  Reply
