"All of the pieces are here for a great album but there is a little something missing. The record is consistent and does a great job of showcasing some of the Small Faces' strengths. Steve Marriott is a amazing throughout. There are a few gems (Itychcoo Park, I'm Only Dreaming, Tin Soldier) but al..."  [+]  Reply

"One of the most creative (but widely unknown) figures of the late 1960s was Tom Rapp, who in 1968 was the leading figure behind the masterpiece 'Balaklava' - a concept album inspired by the anti-militarist struggle of the same name. The running theme of the album is of apocalyptic death and desol..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is one of the outstanding masterpieces of the late sixties and Eric Burdon one of the era's creative figures as well as one of its greatest vocalists. Blues, raga and jazz elements combine to create a work that is refined musically as it is dark politically and socially."  Reply

"One of the greatest improvisational jams ever recorded. Just 3 songs, pretty basic rhythms and harmonies that let Eric Dolphy do some of his better moves. The solos are crazy and the comping by Mal Waldron is something to behold. Ed Blackweel is as solid as ever."  Reply

"This is a nice, light, smooth jazz album with just a piano and guitar. Interestingly, the album artwork looks like it belongs to an early 2010s metal album, cool photography and graphic design choices (e.g. lack of text) which are somewhat uncharacteristic of the early 1960s. This might be my fav..."  [+]  Reply

"I meant they were like the equivalent of The Beatles in Australia for a short time, which is a compliment. They were obviously influenced by them (just look at how they dressed), but of course they did their own thing."  Reply
