Food Court by Food Court

Three australian musicians (Joe Talia, James Rushford, and Francis Plagne) doing two different takes on 14th century composer Solage's Fumeux Fume Par Fumée. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. as is Joe Talia and James Rushford - Manhunter.

The obvious choice for me is the Go-Betweens and because of their importance I feel Australia has always had a fantastic grasp of guitar pop. I also think the last 3 or 4 years has been really great for bands from down under who might be really benefitting from sites such as Bandcamp etc.

Liberty Belle & The Black Diamond E...o-Betweens

Spring Hill Fair by The Go-Betweens

Are my two favoure Go-Betweens albums

We're All Trying To Get There by The Sugargliders

Feral Pop Frenzy by Even As We Speak

Sarah Records goodness

Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometime...ey Barnett

Up To Anything by The Goon Sax

Mindfullness by Flyying Colours

Stranger by Grandstands

Honey Bones by Dope Lemon

Dear You, It Can't Wait. by Dying Adolescence

Figurine by Tired Lion

Azure by Candy

All recent albums I've really enjoyed

Unfortunately I've never heard most of these bands, but I can tell you they sure have great names. Awesome names.

Will Guthrie and Mike Majkowski are two improvisers to keep an eye on, particularly Majkowski. And of course anything that the members of Dirty Three touch is gold.
