Black Veil Brides

Jun20. I don't know a lot about these types of bands. I certainly don't where to place them. They seem to mix genres frequently, but I mix up the bands too, so maybe I am just seeing different bands. 'The Last One' is a shout by numbers rock anthem - pretty good actually. 'Wake Up' is the one song I knew that brought me here. It too is very anthemic and built on heavy bass and a cool riff. The guitarist doesn't mind shredding it up either. 'Vow' is also big and bombastic.
'Ballad of the Lonely Hearts' takes a more moody approach, but is still big in its scope. I love the guitars in this, but I also love when they drop out with just the drums and vocals. The slow last song actually reminded me of Stone Temple Pilots in parts.
Well, this went nothing like I expected. No screamo, no rapping or metalcore, not even much 80s riffage; this is a modern rock album more in the style of a band like Shinedown. I quite like it. Some shredding, but lots of big riffs and massive choruses I couldn't help but sing along to. 3.5/5

Lacking of something. I don't know what

They get a bit of hate due to their sometimes annoying fanbase, but I do think that they are a good band, especially their first album.
