These guys have a nice sound, but it doesn't vary too greatly. They're decent songwriters too, but could improve. Vampire Weekend usually have one or two songs per album that I just go gaga over (which is premature, considering there are only two albums in their discography,) but other than that, they should broaden their sound, and not be afraid of being a little more ambitious. Other than that, I don't get what people see in these guys otherwise.
Fantastic debut, but the follow-up was a bit disappointing. Hopefully the third album arrives soon.
HappymealA good band, but I really wouldn't put them at 125 myself. They definitely deserve top 200 though.
I really like these guys. Though I seem to stand alone with Contra being my preferred album.

andy_hunter 01/01/2012 12:39Very rare I can agree with most of my friends about a band but Vampire Weekend are an exception. Catchy tunes, intelligent lyrics. You can see a clear influence by Paul Simon and Talking Heads in their music.
