"The production maintains this cold, artificial, alien, minimal sound - at times it comes close to sounding too empty, but it never does, it manages to keep your interest throughout the whole running time of the album, not to mention there are tracks like I'm Destructive that provide a welcome -if..."  [+]  Reply

"I have no idea why this album's not more highly regarded; it's an amazing debut, and my second favorite Queen record (behind Sheer Heart Attack). Really not a bad song here, and "My Fairy King," "Jesus," "Doing All Right," "Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll," and "Son & Daughter" are innovative, superio..."  [+]  Reply

"Jeff lynne brings pop sensibilities and great guitar production, tones and intricate melodies. Some say he ruined Tom petty but that's nonsense. Three good to excellent albums including this resulted. This next only to full moon fever. Highlights learning to fly, two gunslingers and title track. ..."  [+]  Reply

"It's important to note that the track listing here does not reflect the expanded CD version, which covers a total of 33 songs over two discs. The score I'm giving this album is based on that version, and more particularly its first disc. That disc contains only songs from the first three albums. ..."  [+]  Reply

"I used to have a 2-1 cassette with The Cars on one side and Candy O on the other. Poor old Candy O was IMO the poor cousin. Often I would just rewind many of the tunes say except Let's Go, Candy O and Dangerous Type so I could listen to The Cars again. Over time, while I still feel it isn't quite..."  [+]  Reply

"This version suffers from the lack of the last two tracks, which were omitted for a stupid reason (because people said Mingus couldnt swing). Together at Noon was easily one of the most badass jazz tracks ever."  Reply

"Lovely soul album from Al Green. The timeless title track is absolutely beautiful and there's plenty of other strong songs on this great record. He made some fine albums in the seventies. This is one of them."  Reply

"Hot Chip put themselves on the indie pop dance-floor map with "and i was a boy from school" mining the darker aspects of electronic music on "the warning" by being more focused, all while being more pop friendly. It certainly shows in that track as well as "over and over" and "no fit state""  Reply
