"After years as a "pop" star and some awful producers, MF and her musicians finds her voice and tear into new territory. Her own compositions hit the mark with their thoughtful lyrics. (Not many people know that the title track was inspired by the Baader Meinhof Gang.) The covers hit the..."  [+]  Reply

"The most intimate live album I've ever heard. It pulls you right into Old Quarter, right there with townes. I love this album. Townes doesn't get the recognition he deserves, but who cares. He's just the amazing Townes Van Zandt."  Reply

"Without David Lee Roth, Van Halen is a different band. Most of the 'original' VH's personality is predicated on David Lee Roth's sense of humor - tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic, like the kid throwing paper airplanes in the back of a 6th grade classroom. "Eat 'em And Smile," Roth's solo debut, is a..."  [+]  Reply

"I listened to this and I faded out. I don't really know what happened, can't recall any thoughts. I woke up later, but was still trapped in this thing. I couldn't get out, and it hit me that the idea of a Nick Drake album seemed danceable at that moment. I could feel my skin turning pale and my m..."  [+]  Reply

"You can, as many probably are aware of, in several rock encyclopedias and other publications on rock and pop learn that this first album by Country Joe and the Fish is regarded as a classic, and that people with an interest in the psychedelic music of the 1960s should hear and appreciate it. This..."  [+]  Reply

"Without a doubt the best sounding album of 2017 to date. Listen with a good pair of headphones to find an expansive soundstage and clear separation among instruments. So far the songwriting is holding up with the production. This looking to be a highlight of 2017."  Reply

"I was listening to Gregorian chants in the early 80s and somehow I missed out on Dead Can Dance in the late 80s. It's my loss. I find this album more engaging than Within the Realm of a Dying Sun. Lisa Gerrard proves here that she can be both ethereal and heavy. Brendan Perry's voice is good but ..."  [+]  Reply

"Great sound, and consistent too - no mediocre tracks here. One of those albums you don't want to end. Best track would have to be Proclamation: good keyboard riff on the intro, which gets better when the drums come in and shine best with the alternate rhythm after the middle part."  Reply

"A few of the songs are jams that can sound a bit unfocused at times and White occasionally sounds like a caricature of himself, but he does it in a way that welcomes reinvention and I love the high energy here. There are some weirder more experimental moments that threw me for a loop and were ver..."  [+]  Reply
