"Needs reappraisal, a handful of great tunes. In my own time, ordinary dream, melting in the sun and long time gone are right up there, only the schmaltz of a couple of ordinary ballads weaken the set"  Reply

"People are always on their asses about sounding to much like Led Zeppelin. You know what I say, "SO F'n WHAT!" I like Led Zeppelin, so yes I enjoy this music and they are talented and I hope they keep sounding like Led Zeppelin for their entire long career. Long Live GVF! Oh and this is a Awesome..."  [+]  Reply

"Colin Newman's production (and you can definitely tell it's him) can't overcome Gavin Friday's all-over-the-place vocals, but... there are "moments." RIYL The Fall, The Misfits, Alien Sex Fiend, bands of that nature."  Reply

"Another, what I would say competent album from Depeche Mode, although, again, unspectacular. As with most DM albums it starts to run out of steam towards the end. 10 tracks instead of 12 would have been better. The other problem with latter day Depeche Mode is the lack of that killer song. They h..."  [+]  Reply

"This post-bop/soul-jazz/fusion album defies categorization, but is easily classified as a masterpiece. The composition and presentation are outstanding. Freddie's all star ensemble includes the likes of Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, and Lenny White for the ultimate dream team capable..."  [+]  Reply

"Real Estate fill the vast void left by the disbandment of Galaxie 500. Their songs are like long lost friends or perhaps more apt a faded, thread bear sweater that becomes more comfortable with age. They have an unapologetically preppy & collegiate vibe to them that reeks of lazy summers spent at..."  [+]  Reply

"My favorite from of Montreal. The first seven tracks of this album flow together so well and if you're not dancing you might be dead inside. The bass on this album is sneaky catchy as well, especially on the single Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games (which doesn't sound anything like its t..."  [+]  Reply

"Basically a re-release of the, remasters, album from 1990, with an almost identical track list, repackaged with new cover artwork. You can't argue about the quality of songs though. I don't personally like to rate and comment on compilations, but I need to bump my points up to get to level seven."  Reply
