"In my opinion the LA Express ruined this album. It sounds like cheezy dollar store jazz. Her solo performances here aren't bad though. Shadows and Light is worlds better."  Reply

"did bono take his cape off? he sounds so much more human and vulnerable than he has in a long time. the production has been stripped back a lot, to the band's credit. the production absolutely suffocated SOI. here, the band goes back to sounding like a band - just four irish dudes in a room. i'm ..."  [+]  Reply

"I don't think Suede were out to create a masterpiece here, they've just brought out 10 tracks that do nothing wrong. The first 6 songs really feel like they were made to be played live, not one doesn't feature a stadium soaring riff or Brett Anderson really wailing the lyrics, as he does best. Al..."  [+]  Reply

"Beautiful, evocative album which is a maelstrom of all of 4ADs greatest bands (circa mide Eightees) and indeed, a number contributed, including DCD and Cocteau Twisns. This is the best of their 3 albums - lots to get into here - listen in a darkened room with plenty of atmosphere."  Reply

"Didn't realize that I never reviewed this before. This is unlike anything Future has put out before. It's an experiment that, in my opinion, worked. I enjoy Future's voice whether he's rapping or singing and he does well doing both on this album. The subject matter can be a bit pompous at times a..."  [+]  Reply

"Having listened to this album a number of times, I finally get it. Disturbing, angry, quizzical, otherworldly, fascinating, funny, and very very beautiful. And Robert's voice floating over it all, haunting, wavering and honest. It's every bit as good as "Rock Bottom" if not better."  Reply

"I think there is. I also think this is another standard affair by Supergrass. Not much new ideas but 12 more catchy and energetic songs on display. 'Seen The Light' and 'Rush Hour Soul' are my favorites! 'Never Done Nothing Like That Before' adds a riot! The boundless youth is still present. More..."  [+]  Reply

"This post-bop/soul-jazz/fusion album defies categorization, but is easily classified as a masterpiece. The composition and presentation are outstanding.
