"This one's growing on me. I didn't like it at first but there are some great tracks and the album flows really well. Best tracks: Good Day, Choker, No Chances, Redecorate Worst tracks: Formidable, Bounce Man"  Reply

"A radical departure from the death metal/grindcore sound of the previous two Carcass albums, but very, very good. Incredibly complex musical arrangements (Corporal Jigsaw Quandry) but still balls-to-the-wall heavy."  Reply

"Other Lives started as an instrumental group, making what I might call progressive classical music. Once they added vocals, it morphed into something else. Classical folk maybe? All I know is they have a bassoon on this album and that is 100% awesome."  Reply

"On this ninth studio opus, built as a concept-album, the Manchester combo finds A LITTLE groove of his youth. On a certainly monotone tempo, the pieces are linked without breaks. "Really strong storytelling and song writing make this one stand out from the crowd. It starts really strongly and keeps the quality high for 8 or 9 tracks. The album rewards repeated listens - go on give it another go!"  Reply

"What an incredible record. Every track is a classic, with some extra special moments in Kill Everyone Now, Machine, The River, and Cats, Sex And Nazis. As much as I love Wrong, I think this record embodies what I love about NoMeansNo a little better. Listening to this record is just so fun, and k..."  [+]  Reply

"The Messenger takes the jangly guitar that is Marr's signature and incorporates it with a slightly heavier sound. Or maybe it's just the modern production I am hearing. Either way, the result is a record that is unmistakably English. It's not The Smiths (nothing ever is) but it's worth a listen."  Reply
