"If you like singer-songwriters and just really good poetic songwriting you'll love this album. There are very few weak tracks here and the highlights are incredible. "Kathleen", "Baby That's not All", "Bright Smile" are incredible. It's an 8.6/10 for me."  Reply

"Perhaps overshadowed by it's sister album (the far superior 'Grand Hotel'), Exotic Birds and Fruit is one of the most underrated albums I've ever come across. The best songs on here are "Nothing but Truth", where Harum experiment with orchestral music a bit more and "As Strong As Sampson" Which h..."  [+]  Reply

"Warning: This album is really fucking loud, That being said, this is like the dark side of Loveless. It's a fantastic album worth listening too. It may lack the soundscapes that Loveless has to offer, but what it doesn't have it makes up for in just pure sound and catchy melodies."  Reply

"I do not agree with everything said on this album but there is no denying it is a passionate example of a particular movement at a particular moment in time. It is raw and hits hard it is unapologetic and completely not politically correct but this album is essential and should be played in histo..."  [+]  Reply

"There are so many lazy, cliched lyrics and "la las" on this album, an album that sees Avril lose some punk edge (on what was basically pop), maybe looking to present a more grown up image. Not that her earlier works were great albums, but she (and her other writers) don't seem to be trying."  Reply
