It's a crunchy lo-fi bluesy garage rock album with bittersweet lyrics that everyone can relate too. Oh and a fuckload of slide guitar

Warts and all, this is a fucking excellent album, exhibiting musical muscle and brains in spades. Still my 2nd favourite Stripes album because it's so damned edgy and earnest. (Edited)

This is a great album, and is a big improvement from the debut. I think the songwriting is much better on this album, and Apple Blossom is one of the best stripes songs ever. Not as rockin' as what was to come, but great nonetheless.
Even more raw than elephant and white blood cells. And although admittedly not as good as those two glorious records, Dr stijl, is still a rollicking good rock'n'roll album, with hints of Led Zeppelin. Good stuff.
Opening track is my favorite and what follows is just as good.
