No-one does melancholy better than Peter Hammill. His first solo album and it remains amongst his best for me. Vision is a beautifully simple song, plus The Birds and Solitude are PH classics.

This nearly feels more like a long lost VdGG album although the aural assault is a little more quiet but still there. If you love first generation VdGG (i.e. until H to He), you must give this record a spin too.
