Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 56.9/100, a mean average of 53.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 53.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 22.8.

This album is consistently strong and grossly underrated. Yeah, it's different than typical Kiss musically and lyrically. But no matter the style it's about the songs. And these songs are damn good.

Not their worst. I actually like the grittier, grungy sound. If it means less of the peurile cock rock it can only be a good thing. Gene’s 80s stuff (aside from (Creatures of the Night) tends to fixate in an unhealthy way on smut. KISS don’t excel at grunge but, as I said, it’s not too bad and for me, a lot more relatable.

This album tends to get short shrift from even the most die hard of KISS fans. It represents the last gasp of the Bruce Kulick and non-makeup era of the band. It has a raw feel and mingles a little too much with the grunge style of the era. However, as with all KISS albums, there are things to find that are likeable. "Jungle" is a great track.

Being a KISS fan for a good amount of time, I find this garbage to be insulting. It shifts into an even more grunge type sound than the previous record Revenge, which wasn't all too bad. However, unless you like grunge, you might like this one, but even the most hardcore grunge fans will find it hard to get through this
