Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.9/100, a mean average of 76.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

I don't regard this album as a compilation since the tracks were not available on other albums. Suede's best. Six tracks I rate at 90 or above.

as others have commented, this collection is a testament to the strength of the songs that Suede recorded for b-sides. they really were amazingly prolific during the period of their first few albums. when the band's initial 5 albums were reissued a few years back, it was interesting to read the liner notes that included Brett Anderson's alternate tracklistings for each album, which in some cases include b-sides instead of some of the tracks that made the original album.

It still surprises me that such great songs were only released as B-sides. This is almost my favourite Suede album.

Very few bands, if any, have B-sides as strong as early suede. The first disk of Sci-Fi is as good, if not better, as suede and dog man star. I think if disk one had been released as a 3rd anderson/butler's suede album it would rank alot higher on the site. Disk two is pretty forgetable however
