Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.5/100, a mean average of 64.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

This is a completely different sound than the Journey most of us grew up with. With co-founder, primary writer, and keyboardist Gregg Rolie singing lead on these songs (before Steven Perry joined the group)and guitar hero Neal Schon dominating musically, this Journey rocks HARD. Check out Schon's stratospheric soloing on "You're On Your Own", the title cut, and album closer "I'm Gonna Leave You" for examples of his undeniable guitar prowess. The comical misstep here is the gravelly Rolie vocal on the final cut, where Rolie sounds as if it were he that lead singer of the fake band Spinal Tap, David St. Hubbins, was aping throughout that mockumentary. Still a shame though, that Journey got neutered after Perry and Jonathan Cain came on board.

I like this one much better than the 80`s stuff.
Here is more blues in it and a bit of progressive and glam-rock.

they do a good cover of It's All Too Much but they still haven't locked onto the sound that would make them famous
